Sewer Scope | Drain Inspection by CCR Plumbing

Professional Sewer Drain Inspection in Utah

Buying or maintaining a home in Utah comes with hidden risks—especially below the surface. A professional sewer scope inspection uses advanced camera technology to examine your sewer line and uncover issues such as:

  • cracked pipes
  • leaks
  • bellies in pipes
  • root intrusion
  • blockages
  • locating pipes underground
  • finding out the depth of pipes
  • identifying the exact location and depth of a sewer clog or pipe damage

It’s very important to catch these problems before they turn into costly repairs. Whether you’re purchasing a home or protecting your current property, a sewer scope inspection gives you clear, real-time insight into the condition of your plumbing system so you can make confident, informed decisions.

Why Would I Need a Sewer Inspection ?

A sewer inspection (sewer scope) is essential because many of the most expensive plumbing problems develop out of sight, deep within your sewer line. Issues like tree root intrusion, pipe corrosion, shifting soil, or hidden blockages can go unnoticed until they cause major backups or structural damage. In a state like Utah—where soil movement and seasonal temperature changes can impact underground pipes—a sewer scope inspection helps catch problems early, saving you from unexpected repairs that can cost thousands. It’s especially important before buying a home, giving you the leverage to negotiate repairs or avoid a costly mistake altogether.

Sewer Scope by CCR Plumbing

At CCR Plumbing, a sewer scope inspection of your main sewer lateral is performed using a high-resolution camera that is carefully fed through the line to capture real-time video of the pipe’s condition. The process is quickest and most efficient when there’s an exterior cleanout available, as it allows direct access to the main line without disrupting your home. If a cleanout isn’t present, CCR Plumbing can still complete the inspection by temporarily removing a toilet to access the 3-inch interior sewer line, ensuring a thorough evaluation from inside the home. This flexible approach allows homeowners across Utah to get a complete, accurate picture of their sewer system without unnecessary guesswork.

Do I Own the Camera Inspection Video?

This is very important. Customers call us all the time and ask us questions like, “how much would it cost to replace my main sewer line?” or perhaps “I have a belly in my sewer line about 10 feet out, how much would it be to replace or repair it?”.

The very first thing required for an accurate quote is the video footage from the sewer scope. If you don’t have the video footage, or access to it, you would need to pay to have the sewer scope performed AGAIN!

Once CCR Plumbing completes your sewer scope inspection, the recorded video footage is securely uploaded to a server and a private link is provided so you can easily view or download it at any time. This step is important because it puts you in control—you own the footage and can share it with contractors, use it to get repair estimates, or keep it for your records. Whether you choose CCR Plumbing for the repairs or decide to work with another provider, you’ll have clear visual documentation of your sewer line’s condition to support whatever next steps you take.
